For determining the supporting strength of soil and soil aggregate mixtures which pass the 2 mm and do not contain more than 10% sand size material. The results obtained by this AASHO & CBR Test. The silent features of this apparatus are :- i) The moulds used in this test are very small hence very smaller samples are required which is a great advantage when a large number of tests have to be carried out with a limited quantity of soil available. Also when large quantities of soil are available, fresh samples can be used for each test. ii) Time required this test is very much less than C.B.R. test and thus more number of tests can be carried out.
